There are currently very few opportunities for survivors to be our teachers…for our voice to be loud and clear about domestic violence, its impact, what is needed and how we can support us. We know first hand what habits we may develop in a violent situation to survive that don’t serve us well in other parts of our lives. Some survivors struggle with felony charges that may come from our choices to live or not be beaten. Sometimes we grow bitter and our self esteem hits the ground. And, we are survivors. When we are ready to change, we want to have change be a supported option.
